Keurig

Every morning, there it is.  Staring at you.  That whole pot of coffee just waiting around, growing stale, knowing that you’re never going to drink it, that you’re just going to ignore it for a while before finally pouring all the rest of it down the drain.  It’s such a waste though, isn’t it?  All that coffee, which was so tasty that morning, warm and strong and slipping down your throat to curl around in your stomach, making you smile in delight as you began to wake up to the day.  Whether you sat in your favorite armchair in the living room, perched yourself at the dining room table, or nestled into the wicker chair outside to watch the birds dance around in the trees, what was it you had in your hands?  A cup of coffee or espresso.  Just one.  One cozy little cup.  And what did the rest of the coffee do while you enjoyed your cup?  That is, if you made more.  That big pot that is willing to hold eight or twelve cups of coffee (and it never makes the exact amount either, does it?) just hangs around your kitchen, taking up space and letting coffee go old.

You make multiple cups for convenience.  You don’t have time to brew one cup and then another cup and then another (if you’re so inclined).  Once you finish your first mug, you’d like to be able to take enough time to pour the second before going back to your chair and watching the birds.  That is the reason you have that big coffeepot sitting on your counter, taking up space.  But you only bought it because you had no other choice, right?

It sounds like you could use a Keurig espresso machine.

Keurig History

“Why brew coffee a pot at a time when we drink it a cup at a time?”

That’s what Keurig espresso machine founders asked one another when they brought the company to life.  They understood that people only drank or purchased one cup at a time and when that cup ran out, went on the prowl to find yet another new cup.  The founders of the company not only loved coffee themselves, but also knew that coffee, no matter what, always tasted best when fresh.  From fresh beans to fresh grounds to fresh brewing, the key was to make sure coffee never had time to get old and stale, bringing crisp new cups of coffee to drinkers every time.  That was what the company set out to achieve.

They founded the new company in 1992, naming it Keurig, a word that is derived from a Dutch word that means excellence.  Placing their headquarters in Wakefield, Massachusetts, they began to research methods of creating a machine that was small enough yet effective enough to supply people with perfect service and at the same time, looked for ways to provide single servings that did not require any measuring and afterward, as little cleanup as possible.  In 1998 they came up with their ideal product; Keurig espresso machines that act as a single-cup brewing system.  While other espresso makers took time to prepare and create drinks, the Keurig espresso machine gave coffee drinkers the flexibility of creating a single cup whenever they wanted, getting freshly brewed drinks in less than a minute every time.  They also developed K-Cup portion packs.  No longer do enthusiasts have to concern themselves with grinding beans, measuring coffee, dealing with messy filters, or cleaning up stray grinds.  Each K-Cup pack has an exactly measured amount of coffee, ready to slip into the machine and transform into your next cup of heady espresso.  Understanding that people love diversity, they have brought in hundreds of gourmet coffees , teas, and cocoa powders for people to choose the K-Cups they want for delicious treats.

In 2004, the success and innovation of Keurig espresso machines gains enough notice by Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Inc. and the two struck a deal that lead to Green Mountain Coffee Roasters owning as much as 42% of Keurig.  When June 2006 came around, they were incorporated as a subsidiary of Green Mountain Coffee Roasters.  Though the brand now officially has new owners, they have not been hampered at all in their designs and endeavor for excellence.  Green Mountain Coffee Roasters allows them to do everything they need to in order to be successful and bring the perfect cup of coffee – fresh every time – to consumers.

What Keurig is Known For

Keurig espresso machines allow for everyone to have their favorite cup of coffee, hot cocoa, and even gourmet tea, in under a minute, every time.  From home use to business offices, they have become the leading single-cup brewing system in North America.  They stand behind their machines’ superiority as well as their patented K-Cup portion packs.  Keurig truly is an innovative company aiming toward distinction in the field and always keeping their customers in the forefront of their minds.  They understand how important good customer service is, especially these days when automated phones and people far outside the country do what little they can to solve a problem they don’t care about.  Keurig cares – they want you to be happy with your purchase and if there is something wrong, they want to know about it.

The company also keeps the environment in mind.  Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Inc. is actually one of the leading developers of Fair Trade and Organic coffees.  These coffees are not only delicious, but also beneficial for the manufacturing processes as well as those who grow the coffee from the time it starts out as a little seed.  They know that with popularity also comes responsibility; having K-Cup serving packs strewn all over in landfills and unable to decompose isn’t the sort of thing they want.  Therefore, they are continuously seeking ways to make the packages more environmentally friendly while simultaneously keeping the coffee within the packs as fresh as they can possibly be.  They’re taking steps to make sure that their company really is as excellent as it can be.
