Solis History
Like a lot of companies, they did not start out exclusively selling Solis espresso machines. Instead, Dr. W. Schaufelberger of Switzerland created the company in order to steadily produce an electric heating pad. The company opened in 1908 by the same name is bears now and continued to distribute the heating pad until they decided to begin expanding the product line. When the Swiss Federal Council (called the Bundesrat) requested that the company help out a particularly economically weak area of the region, Solis complied. They moved a large portion of their production to Kanton of Tinico, bringing people jobs and boosting growth in the area. When the 1950s came around, the globe was much more stable than it had been in the past and the company began to compete more in the international markets. They saw opportunities in countries far from their own and in 1959 people began to take notice of the superior hairdryer brand within the United States. The same happened in Japan in 1969. The company continued to expand and in 1983, Willi Nauer took over the company, changing it from Solis AG to transform it into the Solis Group. Only two years later they expanded their product line once more and finally showed the world their first Solis espresso machine, a fully automatic espresso machine made expressly for in home use. To the present, they have sold over half a million of Solis espresso machines around the world, and the company was still not quite as big as some others in the market. They quickly broadened their range even more to include more models and enable people to have their pick of what model to use.
